The Automobile Association embarked on the design and development of
a new Membership and Marketing system. The new system was required to collect membership
revenues and to promote products based on new promotion rules.
ITG was assigned to the AA as a result of ealier testing
successes.
Initially
ITG assisted in the development of the overall testing strategy
however, it became evident that the project design and build
completion date was being threatened. Priorities were re-arranged
and any project resources having significant design experience
were transferred to system design.
New functions
were designed and the resulting specifications were ratified,
under the scutiny of AA membership management, by a formal
walk through at the AA headquaters boardroom in Basingstoke.
On completion
of the design phase ITG returned to testing, taking charge
of the design and execution of the system integration test
i.e a business level test of functionality across all subsystems
simulating two full cycles of business processing. On conclusion, ITG
was able to demonstate successful system integration and to
report this success to the AA's executive director of development.
