provided a test consultant to BACS (the Banking Automated
Clearing Service) whose first task was to assess and if appropriate
challenge a test strategy prepared by Deloitte & Touche
(Ross). Recommended changes to their strategy were agreed
and the consultant was asked to lead a team to test a particulary
complex subsystem of the Electronic Fund Transfer system.
The project
manager later commented "His task was made more difficult
due to the very late delivery of software to him from the
Development Team, putting pressure on him to complete testing
in a shorter timescale than was originally planned. The testing
was completed on time and to budget, despite these problems,
and has subsequently been proved to be of a high standard
and quality."
Having
completed his assignment, management requested that he re-join
the BACS EFT team as project leader to manage the remaining
test teams. Outstanding functional tests were completed in
good time and achieved the quality criteria required for entry
to the next level of testing.
