ITG
management achieved responsibility for funtion testing
the International Train Reservations System for Eurostar Channel
Tunnel journeys (i.e. the retail of rail services between
London, Bruxelles and Paris). The project was directed by
the European Passenger Service in conjunction with BR, SNCF
and SNBF and involved testing new point of sale reservation
functionality on a technical platform based on an american
airline reservation system.
The testing
strategy, developed by ITG, limited its scope to the above
routes, whereas the development strategy encompassed all major
European destinations. An overall project review, undertaken
by Price Waterhouse consultants, endorsed ITG's strategy,
however the testing, originally planned for execution in York,
was transferred to the project build site at Nottingham.
ITG
planned and actioned the transfer to Nottingham making a suitable
new testing center and platform, including a communications
network link to the European Rail Service, available for use
by up to ten test analysts. The detailed test task plan was
put into action and its execution was completed on time and
to budget.
Price
Waterhouse consultants requested ITG to make a presentation
of test documentation and results to them, prior to a formal
sign-off, declaring the succesful completion of this significant
testing phase.
