Halifax Bank of Scotland deployed Mercury Interactive's performance monitoring application (Topaz) in 2000 and by 2002 were much in need of a technical upgrade. ITG agreed to supply the consultancy services to undertake this particularly challenging assignment (it is thought that this was the first successful upgrade of its kind to be attempted without direct Mercury Interactive supervision). Typical tasks undertaken included :

Re-develop scripts at VuGen 7.02 (for 30+ applications). Test Tivoli alerting interfaces for Topaz 'SNMP Alerts'. Confirm performance reporting post upgrade. Verify the technical upgrade path. Invoke a parallel run. Upgrade HBOS production (Dial Up BT&FS split, Security, Web and Intranet) dual site layers. Verify the HBOS production environment upgrade. Commission Topaz Version 3.5.

The commissioned system configuration comprised a single Management Server configured as Compaq 6400R, Single Processor 500MHz, 512MB RAM, NT4 SP6a, Microsoft IIS 5.0, SQL Server 7.0, Topaz v3.5 SP1 + patches running VuGen 7.02 scripts) and 10 Agent machines configured as Compaq DL380, Single Processor 733 MHz128 MB RAM, NT4 SP6a, Topaz Active Agent v3.5 SP1+ patches).
