The Central
Integrated Design Authority (CIDA) was set up by the Office
of Electricity Regulation to guide and police changes in the
electricity industry. This new legislation included making it
possible for consumers to choose their electricity supplier.
CIDA were also given the responsibility for the design and specification
of new technical interfaces. All existing electricity suppliers
were required to implement these interfaces to
CIDA's satisfacton, otherwise they faced heavy penalities or
even closure.
The timetable
for implementation set out by CIDA saw London Electricity
(LE) in one of the later qualifying groups. ITG, having
already assisted Yorkshire Electricity, was in an ideal position
to advise London Electricity.
ITG
guided the (LE) 1998 Supply Programme regarding Business Process
Interface Testing and then took formal responsiblity for co-ordination
between LE Supply and CIDA. Evidence from interface tests
was referenced and made presentable, as required by the CIDA
inspection team, in the form of a Pre Qualification Return.
London Electricity passed its CIDA inspection in June 1998.
ITG
concluded this assignment by training LE staff in the use
of new procedures. This was achieved using Model Office Supply
business route variants as developed by ITG for use with
Accenture's Model Office.
