Siemens developed
software and hardware for trials with UK Government case working
(e.g. port authority tracking). The system allowed for the capture,
evaluation and monitoring of information prior to re-distributing
documents, together with the case outcome, automatically to
the person or organisation involved.
Part of
these trials required evidence to be made available, to senior
Government officials, showing that the operational performance
of the system was satisfactory. PARIS conducted these performance
trials, using Mercury Interactive's performance monitoring
tools, at the request of Siemens Business Systems.
The strategy
and testing undertaken was independently audited by Magic
Performance PLC who reported "The overall approach and
execution of the testing by Siemens Business Services is very
strong. This has been reinforced by the fact that they have
already found and fixed problems highlighted by the performance
testing". Test management added "I have been very
impressed with your (PARIS's) high degree of professionalism,
dedication and ability". PARIS has "played a very
important role in the success of the test team".
PARIS
calibrated the system for performance and identified, the
maximum and concurrent limits within Oracle and Tuxedo, inefficient
SQL coding and the optimum Tuxedo server tuning for case work
transaction throughput.
